PUNK

…and me

I am a child of the 70s and, even in Socialistic Yugoslavia, we were exposed to a new type of noise.

It was a eureka moment for me when Pistols & Co. hit the Student radio airways in Ljubljana and had something to say. I could never relate to Prog rock, of any type or form, and ABBA-esque bands were just too melodic, constantly singing about love.

PUNK

…and why !

So, here were a couple of guys singing about real life. Despite the fact they were far from the Glam guitar gods of the day, they made vibrations and wrote lyrics I could relate to. The energy and vibe coming out of the speakers far outweigh any 15-minute guitar solo that Glam could offer.

They were just themselves, regardless that they were the filth and the fury of their generation.

PUNK

…as a way of life.

As a mediocre student who lacked commitment or brain power, I meandered through life without detailed knowledge of most things. Punk showed me that there are many ways to go through it, providing you have the energy and will to carry on regardless of what others say or the system expects of you.

In short, believe in yourself, work harder than most, and you’ll get there.

PUNK& BIKES& RTW

BTW, the above slogan signifies important parts of me and it goes nicely with Ian Dury classic (that you can find here).

PUNK

…at 58

Once again I stand at a crossroads in life, this time at 58. The system is saying, Mr. Assejev seven more years to the retirement almost there, …do not forget your vitamins.

While my inner old Punk person is saying, “ fuck it man, you always wanted to see the world on a bike. What is stopping you now but yourself ? “

…and BTW you are running out of time!

PUNK

…into 60s

Long story short, I decided to listen to that Punk person once more, and plan to travel around the world solo over several years, on a Norden 901 Explorer.

I plan to become a YouTuber extraodinare and earn my pennies that way. Kilometres and regular vlogs to follow from May 2025 onwards. You are all invited to follow me and Huso and witness us making fools of ourselves or perhaps not.
